DOCTORS SAY ASPIN'S SURGERY WENT SMOOTHLY
Defense Secretary Les Aspin underwent surgery Thursday to receive a heart pacemaker and probably will be back at his desk on Monday, according to his doctors.Aspin's cardiologist, David Pearle, said the 90-minute operation at Georgetown University Hospital went well and that "the pacemaker is functioning the way we hoped it would."
