GUERRILLA GIRLS APPEARING AT TECH
The Guerrilla Girls will come to Virginia Tech on Saturday as part of the university's Women's Week celebration. The gorilla-masked group formed in 1985 to protest the small number of women artists represented in an exhibit at New York City's Museum of Modern Art. The members' identities have remained hidden ever since, and the group continues to monitor sexism in the art world, mainly through its posters plastered around New York.
The Guerrilla Girls will appear - in masks - at 8 p.m. in Squires Student Center. They will offer an interactive performance using video and audio tapes of their activities.
