Roanoke publisher files for liquidationDominion Publications, a Roanoke publishing company owned by Jerry Hartman, has filed for protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Roanoke during liquidation. The publisher of real estate, apartment and travel publications estimated its debt and assets at less than $500,000.

Apex Industrial Equipment of Salem filed for reorganization, estimating its debt at under $1 million and assets at less than $500,000.

Rubatex is industry of year in Bedford
Rubatex Corp. of Bedford was named Industry of the Year Friday by the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce. The company, which employs about 1,000 in production of rubber products, was cited for community involvement, especially contributions to the Bedford library construction fund.
Sue Gilbert, chair of the Bedford Area Tourism Development Committee, won the outstanding service award. Peter Viemeister, chair of the Bedford City/County Museum board of directors and the Bedford Memorial Foundation, was citizen of the year. - Staff report
USAir attendants OK 1-year pay cuts
USAir flight attendants Friday ratified a new 45-month contract that allows a maximum 2.9 percent pay cut the first year, after which industry-standard raises will kick in three times over 22 months. USAir said the measures would save $10 million over the year. - Staff report
