OBIT BRUNS, PATRICIA LYNN
BRUNS, Patricia Lynn ("Patty"), 39, of 258 North Ridge Dr. in Landisville,
Pa., a former resident of Athens, W.Va., died Saturday, March 13, 1993 in
Aruba, Dutch Caribbean, following an automobile accident. Born August 11, 1953
in Princeton, W.Va., she was the daughter of Donald E. and Lavella Meadows
Pettrey of Athens. She was a 1971 graduate of Athens High School and received
her registered nursing degree from Bluefield State College in 1973. She was a
nurse for Princeton Community Hospital from 1973 to 1977. She worked as a
nurse in outpatient surgery for the Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley from
1977 to 1992 before moving to Landisville. She was a member of the Association
of Operating Room Nurses. She was preceded in death by one brother, Chester A.
Pettrey. Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Bruns of Landisville,
Pa.; one daughter, Christine Lynn Bruns of Springfield, Va.; four brothers,
Jerry Pettrey of Salem, Va., Gaylon Pettrey of Clifton Forge, Travis Pettrey
and Kenny Pettrey, both of Princeton, W.Va.; five sisters, Betty Pennington of
Athens, Ella Louise Helton of Beckley, Kay Ann Wiles of Lawrenceville, Ga.,
Carolyn Harshbarger and Kathy Pettrey, both of Princeton. Funeral services
will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday at the George W. Seaver Funeral Home Chapel in
Princeton with Rev. Eugene Harman officiating. Burial will follow in the
Athens Cemetery in Athens, W.Va. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3
to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the
Chester A. Pettrey Scholarship Fund, care of Princeton High School, 1321
