CHRISTMAS STORE STILL SETTLING ITS ACCOUNTS
Even though spring is fast approaching, the Montgomery County Christmas Store is only now receiving the last bills and donations for the 1992 store. As we end the fiscal year, the board would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who made the store such a success this year. This year's store served slightly fewer than 1,200 families with toys, clothing, household items, food and other gifts. Despite the sluggish economy in the county, we were able to raise a record $94,967 in cash. This was in addition to the goods donated as a result of many special projects by community groups. The community's generosity allowed us to serve all qualified applicants.
As has been the case in the past, the success of the store reflects an amazing partnership among churches, schools, university, civic groups, businesses and many interested individuals. Without the untold volunteer hours that the community gives, the store could not exist.
Plans are already under way for the 1993 store. The board invites any citizen interested in being a part of the excitement to join us.\ Bill King\ Co-chairman\ Montgomery County\ Christmas Store
