OBIT BOWER, SALLIE MAE

BOWER, Sallie Mae, 88, of 7875 Woodhaven Road N.W., Roanoke, died Saturday, March 20, 1993. She was the widow of Orren T. Bower; and is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Elma Jane and John Sowers, Roanoke; five sons and daughters-in-law, Lester A. and Mattie Bower of Roanoke; Orville T. and Phyllis Bower of Rocky Mount, David I. and Alda Bower of Troutville, Cecil D. and Sue Bower of Glade Hill, Darrell E. and Lena Bower of Roanoke; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Peters, Covington, Ohio; and four sisters-in-law, Annie J. Montgomery of Wirtz, Maude Fisher Beckner of Covington, Ohio, Bessie J. Bower and Ruth F. Bower, both of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from Peters Creek Old German Baptist Church 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will follow in Peters Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Roanoke County Rescue Squad, No. 5, Hollins. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel after 2 p.m. Sunday.
