OBIT DICK, DAVID
DICK, David, 85, of 3216 Oliver Road N.E., Roanoke, died Saturday, March
20, 1993. He was an active member, a deacon and a trustee of Oakland Baptist
Church. He was also a certified surveyor and civil engineer, and was a former
Roanoke City building inspector and a member of the city planning commission.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Jones Dick; one daughter, Martha Dick,
Richmond; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Karen Jones and Richard Harwood,
State College, Pa.; a son-in-law, Ford White, Richmond; one brother, Stuart
Dick, Newark, Del.; a brother-in-law, Burks Via, California; two sisters,
Eleanor and Marjorie Dick, both of Newark, Del.; and three sisters-in-law,
Mrs. Elsie Logwood and Mrs. Cleria Key, both of Roanoke, Mrs. Annie Grayson of
North Carolina. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel 3
p.m. Monday, March 22, with the Rev. Kelly Dampeer and the Rev. Chris
Rakestraw officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may
call at Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4
p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
