Boone & Co., a Roanoke County real estate brokerage, ranked fifth in the state based on the number of transactions during 1992, according National Relocation & Real Estate, a trade magazine.Boone was credited with 1,995 transactions and was among 144 real estate brokerages in the country cited by the magazine. Boone also ranked 159th based on its sales volume of $220 million. - Staff report NEW YORK - Philip Morris Cos. said Monday it has agreed to buy a 65 percent stake in a Lithuanian tobacco company for $40 million.
Philip Morris said it will spend $30 million to modernize the factory, operated by the Klaipeda Tobacco Co. The plant will make Marlboro, Bond Street, L&M and other Philip Morris cigarette brands.
Philip Morris, which makes and markets tobacco, beer and food products worldwide, had 1992 revenues in excess of $59 billion. - Associated Press
