UVA-CINCINNATI GAME SCHEDULED FOR TV
Virginia's basketball game against Cincinnati on Friday will be among the NCAA men's regional semifinals telecasts from CBS Sports aired by Roanoke's WDBJ (Channel 7).WDBJ will pre-empt "Jeopardy" on Friday night at 7:30 for the UVa-Cincinnati tipoff three minutes later from the Meadowlands Arena.
CBS affiliates in Virginia may air NCAA programming a half-hour earlier than previously scheduled because of the UVa game.
Thursday's regional semifinals schedule on WDBJ has Indiana-Louisville from the Midwest Regional in St. Louis at 8 p.m., followed by Kentucky-Wake Forest from the Southeast Regional at Charlotte Coliseum.
After UVa-Cincinnati on Friday, the other game telecast will be North Carolina-Arkansas, also from the East Regional at the Meadowlands Arena.
CBS is likely to fill time between the UVa and UNC games with the finish of the Michigan-George Washington game in the West Regional at the Kingdome in Seattle.
The regional finals will be played in Saturday and Sunday doubleheaders - the Southeast and Midwest at 3:30 and 6 p.m., respectively, on Saturday, with the East followed by the West on Sunday at 1:30 and 4 p.m.
CBS has selected its own "Final Four" telecast announcing teams for the regionals. Verne Lundquist and Clark Kellogg will work the East, Dick Stockton and Al McGuire the Southeast, James Brown and Bill Raftery the Midwest and Jim Nantz and Billy Packer the West.
