OBIT CHEWNING, GRACE SIMMONS

CHEWNING, Grace Simmons, 77, of Roanoke, died Thursday, March 25, 1993. She was the widow of Frank L. Chewning and is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie L. and Willie Mabry, Roanoke; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis W. and Mary Chewning, Roanoke, Douglas L. and Debbie Chewning, Orange City, Fla.; five sisters, Bessie Maxey, Lillian Patsel, Gernie Witt, Blanche Allie, all of Roanoke, Dorothy Allie, Montvale; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with the Rev. H. R. Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel after 2 p.m. Saturday.
