OBIT STOCKTON, HARRY ELMORE
STOCKTON, Harry Elmore, 80, of Roanoke, died Thursday, March 25, 1993, in a
local hospital. He was retired senior salesman of Magic City Ford. Mr.
Stockton was a past president of the Triangle Sunday School Class at Raleigh
Court Presbyterian Church and a past president of the Raleigh Court Lions
Club. He was a member of Virginia Heights Lodge #324 A.F. & A.M., the Roanoke
Scottish Rite Bodies, and Kazim Shrine Temple. Mr. Stockton served in the
United States Marine Corp in the South Pacific during World War II. Surviving
are daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth (Jeri) and James C. Key, Westport,
Conn.; sons and daughter-in-law, Lt. Col. Harry W. and Judy B. Stockton,
Salem, Russell (Pat) Stockton, Marietta, Ga., Michael J. Stockton, Charlotte,
N.C.; nine grandchildren; brothers, Archibald D. Stockton, Roanoke, Worth B.
Stockton, Moneta. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be
made to the Ronald McDonald House or the Raleigh Court Lions Club. Services
will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church with the
Rev. F. Tupper Garden and the Rev. J. Harris Stephens officiating. Interment
with military honors will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will
receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's
South Chapel.
