OBIT- HUGHES, DOUGLAS TURNER

HUGHES, Douglas Turner, 84, of Kilmarnock, died March 26, 1993. He was born December 2, 1908, in Buena Vista. He was a retired Lt. Col. in the United States Air Force and served in World War II. Mr. Hughes, a senior examiner with the Federal Reserve of Richmond, retired in 1973. Mr. Hughes was married to Larrayne Jones Hughes, who died in 1981. He is survived by three nieces, Mrs. John M. Lee of Farmville, Va., Mrs. Donald Ritchie of Charlotte, N.C., and Mrs. Donald Sontag of Media, Pa. Funeral services will be held at Kilmarnock Baptist Church on Sunday, March 28 at 3 p.m. with interment at Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista on Monday, March 29, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock on Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kilmarnock Baptist Church.
