ROANOKE MEN RIP GUILFORD

Roanoke College overpowered Guilford 24-3 for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference men's lacrosse victory Sunday at Greensboro, N.C.

Brett Smith had five goals to lead the Maroons (3-1), who outshot Guilford 60-15. Roanoke led 8-1 after a quarter, 15-2 at halftime and 19-2 after the third quarter.

Bart Zimmerman added three goals and four assists; and Mark Dibenedetto had two goals and four assists. Joe Keenan and Aaron Sims added two goals each. Adding a goal each for Roanoke were Erik Daly, Colin McGahren, Chris Young, Jerry Caldwell, Phil Conserva, Dan Hynes, Brad Hennegan, Steve Hoffman, Pepper De Turo and Jamie Dreher.

James Kabbash, Mike Bonin and Chris Lang scored for the Quakers (2-4).
