OBIT MYERS, JAMES RODGER SR.
MYERS, James Rodger Sr., 43, of 709 30th St., N. W., Roanoke, died Saturday
afternoon, March 27, 1993, in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born in
Pittsylvania County, July 31, 1949, he was the son of James W. Myers of
Roanoke, Va., and the late Mrs. Violet Carter Myers. He was a member of the
Bible Way Church of Christ, Roanoke, Va., a member of the Gentlemen Brother's
Club and the C. B. Club, and prior to his retirement on disability, was
employed at Burlington Mills, Inc. in Vinton, Va. In addition to his father,
he is survived by one son, James R. Myers Jr. of the residence; six uncles,
six aunts, a devoted cousin, Jo Ann Womack of Java; and a host of relatives
and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the
Miller Funeral Home, Gretna, Va. by Elder Robert K. Ingram and the Rev Burnett
Clark. Burial will follow in the Myers Family Cemetery, Gretna, Va. The family
will receive friends at Miller Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 and
other times at the Myers Home-site, Route 1, Gretna, Va. Miller Funeral Home,
Gretna, is in charge of the arrangements.
