OBIT LOWE, JAMES ROBERT JR.

LOWE, James Robert Jr., 67, of Narrows, died Saturday morning, March 27, 1993, in the Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, W.Va. He was born in Monroe County, W.Va., on June 8, 1925, and was the son of the late James Robert and Roxie Humphreys Lowe. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Narrows for 38 years where he served on the Board of Deacons. He was a retired agent for the Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife, Alma Dent Lowe, Narrows; three sons, Donald E. Lowe and Russell R. Lowe, both of Rich Creek, James R. Lowe III of Newport News; two daughters, Patricia L. Ray of Richmond, Sharon L. Heslep of Princeton, W.Va; a brother, Russell Lowe, Lindside, W.Va.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held 11:00 Tuesday morning at the First Baptist Church in Narrows with the Rev. Rick Painter officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Narrows. The family will meet their friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows from 6 until 9 Monday evening.
