MEDIA SOFT-PEDAL BLACK RACISM

THE ARTICLE that appeared in the Roanoke Times & World-News on March 7, in which Charles Green, president of the local NAACP, was interviewed is just one more example of the feather touch of the news media toward racist blacks. The words that came from Green's mouth were far more racist than I ever heard come from David Duke - and every liberal press in the country kicked him in the teeth.

Why won't the media label the National Association for the Advancement for Colored People as the racist organization that it is when it has no trouble doing so with the Ku Klux Klan?

If more of the ministers in the black community would preach more about God and his love for all men and less about white racism, maybe we could answer Rodney King's question, "Can't we all get along?" GARLAND C. HUTCHENS LYNDHURST
