Carroll County Administrator William Mitchell will outline a proposal under which Carroll and Grayson counties and the city of Galax could work together to dispose of solid waste at less cost together than any of them could individually.
It would involve localities taking turns at providing landfills or other disposal methods that might be technologically feasible in the future.
Localities in the region could join together as an authority, as those in Wythe and Bland counties and the New River Valley have done.
