OBIT MARTIN, DOROTHY EVANS

MARTIN, Dorothy Evans, 71, of Narrows, died Saturday, March 27, 1993. Mrs. Martin was born in Giles County on April 27, 1921, and was a daughter of the late Henry and Mona Hunter Evans. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Bill, Sonny, and Julian; two sisters, Ruby and Sarah. She was the widow of William Deward Martin. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Barbara Martin, Narrows; daughter and son-in-law, Heida and James Johnston, Narrows; two brothers, David Evans, Pembroke, Robert Evans, Richmond; three sisters, Josephine Evans, Pearisburg, Betty Walker, Eggleston, Marge Gilmore, Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Christie and Cherie Martin, both of Narrows, April and Michael Johnston, both of Narrows. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Givens Funeral Chapel, Pearisburg with the Rev. David Lawson officiating with burial in Birchlawn Burial Park.
