OBIT BURTON, ELWOOD SWANSON

BURTON, Elwood Swanson, 59, of Roanoke, died Thursday, December 31, 1992. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his mother, Claudia S. Burton and sister, Marie Chocklatt. Surviving are his sons, Scott Gregory Burton and wife, Sherry, Kevin Ray Burton; father, Ray R. Burton; brothers, Douglas J. Burton and Donald F. Burton and his wife, Virginia; a sister, Haskell Hartley and husband, George; brother-in-law, Clarence Chocklatt; dear friends, Frankie Atwood and Bernice Worrell; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be noon Saturday at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel with burial in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel.
