ALLEGHANY BOUNCES CAVE SPRING

Mike Hunter and Todd Wheatley combined for 55 points as Alleghany rolled past Cave Spring 86-76 Saturday in a non-district boys' basketball game at the Knights' gym.

The Mountaineers remained unbeaten in eight games.

Hunter, a 6-foot-1 guard, scored 29 points and Wheatley, a 6-4 forward, added 26 points for the Mountaineers.

Robbie Hibbs led Cave Spring (3-6) with 19 points. Matt Matheny and Dusty Beekman each had 15.

Roanoke Valley Christian 22 The Colonels led 16-0 after the first

quarter and cruised. Felecia Manns had 15 points and 22 rebounds, and Marqueetta Randolph added 16 points and 14 rebounds for Fleming (5-3).

The Bulldogs bolted to a 12-4 lead after one quarter and held off the Patriots in a non-district game. PH (1-6) closed its deficit to two points in the fourth quarter but couldn't complete the comeback. Caroline Mays had 15 points for the Patriots and Michelle King had 10.
