NOEL, JOSEPHINE CRIDLAND
NOEL, Josephine Cridland, 90, of Lexington, died Sunday, January 3, 1993.
She was a professional violinist and teacher. Born in Dayton, Ohio, she taught
violin at the Northwestern Conservatory of Music in Minneapolis, Minn. at
Capital University in Columbus, Ohio and at Otterbein College in Westerville,
Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Art degrees in 1923
and 1924 from Otterbein College. She was married to the late Paul Kennedy
Noel. She lived in suburban Philadelphia where she also taught violin and
piano. A resident of Lexington since 1973, she was a member of the Womens
Club, the Historical Society, the Historic Lexington Foundation and was active
in the Presbyterian church where she founded the library in 1985. She is
survived by her daughter, Martha Noel Evans, Lexington; three grandchildren;
one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held at Lexington
Presbyterian Church on Thursday, January 7, 1993 at 2 p.m.
