VA. CARRIER TO BUY UNITED'S DASH-8 COMMUTER SERVICE
Atlantic Coast Airlines, a Sterling, Va.-based commuter carrier operating as United Express, said it has reached a tentative agreement with United Airlines' parent company, UAL Corp., to acquire the Dash-8 regional service from Air Wisconsin, a United subsidiary.The transaction - expected to be finalized in April - would transfer Air Wisconsin's United Express service between Roanoke Regional Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport to Atlantic Coast. United Express now has four daily departures from Roanoke. Also included will be service between Dulles and Charlottesville, Norfolk and Richmond.
Atlantic Coast, founded in 1989, serves 35 cities from its hub at Washington Dulles International Airport. - Staff report
