GUNMAN ROBS BANK IN ABINGDON
A man in a ski mask fired a bullet into the wall of Dominion Bank on Abingdon's Main Street on Wednesday morning and forced three tellers to empty their cash drawers into a pillow case he was carrying.Capt. Robert Bumgarner of the Abingdon Police Department said the man came into the bank about 9:55 a.m. brandishing a long-barreled revolver. He fled with an undetermined amount of money in a gray four-door sedan driven by a second man.
The gunman was described as wearing dark trousers and a blue jeans jacket. The driver wore a plaid shirt and cap. They drove east on Colonial Road from the bank.
