ROCKY MOUNT TOWN MANAGER CLEARED OF DUI
Rocky Mount Town Manager Mark Henne was found not guilty Thursday of driving under the influence.Henne's attorney, Richard L. Lawrence, said that although Henne admitted to having had a couple of beers when he was pulled over, he passed several field sobriety tests.
Henne's blood-alcohol level exceeded the legal limit of 0.10 percent, but Lawrence said the Vinton court acquitted Henne because he passed the sobriety tests and was cooperative when arrested.
Rocky Mount Town Council disciplined Henne the week after a Vinton police officer arrested him.
Council suspended Henne for 30 days without pay, and ordered him to turn in his keys to the town car. When Henne was pulled over, he was driving the town car.
