OBIT-ZEIGLER, RUTH NAFF
ZEIGLER, Ruth Naff, 72, of Salem, died Tuesday, January 12, 1993 after a
long illness. She was born in Floyd County on January 16, 1920, the daughter
of the late Rev. Archie P. Naff and Clara McNeil Naff. She was the wife of
Elmer Telling Zeigler. Mrs. Zeigler was a graduate of National Business
College and served until retirement in Roanoke area Schools as secretary and
librarian. She was an active member of First Christian Church, Salem. Her
children are Margaret Z. Meador, wife of Richard L. Meador, Waynesboro, Joey
Ziegler, Roanoke and Alan C. Zeigler, husband of Judy L. Zeigler, Salem;
grandchildren are David B. Meador, Laura M. Wadsworth, Amy M. Baker, Margaret
E. Zeigler, Cameron S. Zeigler and Keri A. Zeigler; great-grandchild is Ashley
Ruth Poff; other family members are Mrs. Melissa Naff, stepmother; and
brothers and sisters including Melba N. Bryant, Helen N. Altizer, Joyce N.
Moore, Lola N. Clower, Rev. A. P. Naff Jr., Rev. Arnold Naff, Rev. Elbert
Naff, Paul Naff, and Billy Naff. Preceding her in death were brothers, Rev. J.
T. Naff and Harold Naff and a sister, Dianne N. Trump. The family will receive
friends Saturday at a reception following an 11 a.m. memorial service at First
Christian Church, which will follow a 10 a.m. graveside service at East Hill
Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church Memorial Fund, 712
Front Street, Salem, VA 24153. John M. Oakey & Son, Salem Funeral Home is
handling the arrangements.
