TAKE ROLL CALL OF DUI DEATHS, TOO
I AM RESPONDING to the column (Jan. 5) by Ed Shamy, "Gun death roll call tells all."No, Ed, it doesn't tell all. I am truly sorry for all the families that were listed. But when will we see a list of all the "government sponsored drug- or alcohol-related" deaths? I don't think you would have room to print them.
Mr. Ed should tell the legislators that, while they are counting at the morgues, emergency squads or graves, they should give us reason why more isn't done to prevent DUI deaths. Could it be because too many of our lawmakers enjoy alcohol? JOHNNY SIMMS ELK CREEK
