TOURISM GROUP SEEKS PHOTOS OF ATTRACTIONS
The Promotions Subcommittee for New River Valley HOSTS is seeking photos and slides of attractions, events, lodgings, scenery, activities, historical sites and other subjects to help market the region to potential visitors.
Negatives, photos and slides will be returned after duplication if they cannot be donated.
People with material that can be donated or loaned should contact Charlotte Snow at the Best Western Radford Inn (telephone 639-3000).
HOSTS wants to be able to provide photos to publications writing about the New River Valley and to create slide shows to show its attractions to potential visitors.
It also will give a set of the materials to the Virginia Tourism Group so it can promote the region.
Development of a photo and slide inventory is one of the requirements for a state tourism accreditation program that would put the New River Valley among the first regions in Virginia to receive state certification as being tourism-ready.
