FOR THE RECORD
ClarificationA comment made by Superintendent Harold Dodge at Tuesday night's Montgomery County School Board meeting was placed out of context. The quote by Dodge that the county, once the "lighthouse" of education in Southwest Virginia, was "close to becoming the outhouse," referred to Dodge's concern over the size of the raise for school employees that School Board members tentatively agreed to - 2 percent. It was not a comment directed at the entire school budget being planned for next year.
