WORD, Nannie, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, January 20, 1993. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Herman L. and Eliza Word; a devoted grandson, Herman L. Word Jr., all of Roanoke; three granddaughters, Ms. Diane Nutter and Ms. Carolyn Word, both of Roanoke, Ms. Jennifer Mitchell, Pennsylvania; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Sweet Union Baptist Church. Dr. E. T. Burton will officiate with interment in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis.
