KESSINGER, Bessie Lee Conner, 65, of Fairfield, died Thursday, January 21, 1993 in Stonewall Jackson Hospital. She was born November 5, 1928 in Rockbridge County the daughter of the late Otha Conner and Fairdell Fix Conner. She was married to the late Edgar L. Kessinger. She is survived by two brothers, John H. Conner of Lexington and Thomas Wilson Conner of Fairfield; five sisters, Dolly Helfrich of Baltimore, Md., Frances Fix of Front Royal, Jessie Harlow of Rockbridge Baths, Millie Kidd of Glasgow, Rachel Childers of Richmond; five daughters, Anna Hickman of Fairfield, Jennifer Dunn of Key West, Fla., Mildred Hatcher of Glasgow, Shirley Wiseman of Newport News, Jeanette McClung of Fairfield; two sons, Lloyd Kessinger of Craigsville and Edgar Kessinger of Fairfield; three foster children; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a special friend and companion, Mr. Ralph Hartless of Fairfield. Funeral arrangements were handled by Lomax Funeral Home and a private graveside service at the Fairfield Cemetery was given by Rev. James Smals of the Concord Church of the Brethren in Fairfield.
