NO JUSTIFICATION FOR FISHING FEE

HOW DID the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries convince our legislators that it needed a $7.50 salt-water license fee?

To my knowledge, they have no justification to impose such a fee on salt-water fisherman.

It is not the fee that upsets me, it is the principle.

Our group has been salt-water fishing on the coast for many years, spending our tourist dollars - which, I might add, is a sizeable amount - and enjoying it very much. As of this writing, we will take our dollars elsewhere. EARL JOHNSON ROANOKE
