OPEN SPACE PLAN WORKSHOPS SET
A series of public workshops has been scheduled to review the draft Open Space Plan, a plan to identify areas of critical resources in Blacksburg and Montgomery County and make recommendations for tools to preserve those resources.
The first round will provide an update of the process and provide basic information on the formulation of the draft Open Space Plan. Round One meetings will be held in:
\ Blacksburg: 7-9 p.m., Thursday at the Blacksburg Community Center on Patrick Henry Drive.
\ Mount Tabor: 7-9 p.m., Feb. 9 at Slussers Chapel on Mount Tabor Road.
\ Riner: 7-9 p.m., Feb. 11 at Auburn High School.
Chapter 3 of the draft plan, describing the various tools for protecting open space, will be distributed at Round One meetings. Copies are available at the Montgomery County and Blacksburg planning departments. The plan's recommendations for both Blacksburg and Montgomery County will be available at both planning offices on Feb. 16.
