OBIT-HURST, STELLA JACKSON

HURST, Stella Jackson, 100, of Hillsville, passed away Saturday, January 30, 1993 at Elder Care of Hillsville. Born October 22, 1892, at Carroll County, she was a daughter of the late Joshua Lee and Laura Belle Bolt Jackson. Mrs. Hurst was preceded in death by her husband, Connie Hurst, a son, Carl Hurst, and a brother, William Jackson. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon and Elva Hurst of Draper Valley, Oren and Doris Hurst of Hillsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Robert Lane of Hillsville; a daughter-in-law, Hildred Hurst of Belle, W.Va.; and ten grandchildren, four foster grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and five foster great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 1993, at the Hillsville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Carpenter and Elder Joe H. McGrady officiating. Burial will follow in Branscome Cemetery. Mrs. Hurst will be placed in Hillsville Presbyterian Church Monday at 4 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Funeral arrangements by Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville.
