\ BRENDA LOTT, New River Community College psychology instructor, recently gave the presentation, "Reducing Teacher-Student Anxiety in Relation to Sexuality and Gender Issues across the Psychology Curriculum," at the Eastern Conference on the Teaching of College Psychology at James Madison University.

\ LEWIS MARTIN, assistant professor of sociology, has been appointed to a two-year term on the program committee and the conference steering committee for the Appalachian Studies Association.

\ JOE SHEFFEY, coordinator of financial aid/veterans, has been appointed to the Governor's Blue Ridge Education and Training Council.
