ROYALS WIN 1ST AT W&L SINCE '81
Vaughn Troyer scored 19 of his 26 points in the second half Saturday night to help Eastern Mennonite rally to a 76-69 basketball victory over Washington and Lee.It was the first victory for the Royals (6-15 overall, 4-10 Old Dominion Athletic Conference) at Washington and Lee since 1981, a span of 13 games. W&L (4-15, 2-12) has lost 14 of its past 15 games.
Washington and Lee was up by 12 in the first half and led 53-50 with 13 minutes remaining before Eastern Mennonite used a 7-0 run to take the lead for good. The final margin was the Royals' largest.
Eastern Mennonite also got 24 points from Todd Martin and 13 from Phil Friesen.
Bryan Watkins led Washington and Lee with 21 points. \
