MEADOWLARK LEMON A GLOBETROTTER AGAIN
Meadowlark Lemon is returning to the Harlem Globetrotters.
Lemon, who played for the Globetrotters from 1957-79, signed a contract to play for the touring team through April 10 - the balance of the 1993 domestic tour, team president Michael R. Booker said. Lemon will launch the beginning of his second farewell tour when the Globetrotters face the Washington Generals today at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Before retiring, Lemon played in more than 7,500 games.
"The players I'll be sharing the court with are my children's age," Lemon said. "It's important for me to perform up to the standards that fans have come to expect."
