OBIT LOWE, DR. RICHARD H. JR.
LOWE, Dr. Richard H. Jr., 73, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, February 13, 1993, after a long illness. He is survived by his children, Sherrie Lowe Spence, Richard H. Lowe III, Lisa Lowe Comko, Debra Lowe Boyd, and James Craig Lowe; numerous grandchildren; and his sister, Doris F. Paris. After graduation from Hampden-Sydney College and the University of Virginia Medical School, he did his residency in Urology at the University of Tennessee Medical School. In addition to many years of medical practice in the Roanoke Valley, Dr. Lowe served as a Lieutenant in the Medical Corps, U.S. Navy; was a past-president of the Virginia Urological Society; and was a member of the Roanoke Academy of Medicine, the America Urological Association, and the Vocational Rehabilitation Committee of the Medical Society of Virginia. Further, Dr. Lowe served as president and chairman of the board of the Certified Medical Representatives Institute, Inc., a non-profit educational institution serving thousands of students throughout the United States. A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday at Christ Lutheran Church, 2011 Brandon Ave. S.W., with the Rev. Mark Radecke officiating. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hampden-Sydney College for the Lowe-Draper Scholarship Fund, or to the Certified Medical Representatives Institute, Inc., 4950 Brambleton Ave. S.W., Roanoke, Va. 24018.
