OBIT PURDY, MYRTLE TRAINER
PURDY, Myrtle Trainer, 73, of Roanoke, died February 12, 1993, in a local nursing home. She was the widow of Roy J. Purdy and a member of West End Presbyterian Church for over 40 years. She was a former employee of the old Jefferson Theater and a retired supervisor of the circulation department of the Roanoke Times and World News. Surviving are a brother, John Treynor, White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.; two sisters, Lillian Lucille Reid of Alta Vista, Va.; and Mattie Virginia Smith of San Antonio, Texas; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel noon Tuesday with the Rev. H. D. Scoggins officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Lung Association. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Oakey's Roanoke.
