GATOR SENIORS PLACE FIFTH

The Gator Senior teams placed fifth with 497 points in the Virginia Short Course Senior Championship swim meet at Donald N. Dedmon Center at Radford University.

Brian Finucane, new this year to year-round swimming competition, achieved a Y-National qualifying time in the 100-yard backstroke of 57.49, a Gator team record for boys 13-14.

Carolyn Bucher broke the Virginia State Record in the 11-12 girls 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.27, also a Gator team record.

Other Y-National cuts were achieved by Lauren Feldman, 100-yard freestyle (55.49); Shannon Goff, 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.81); Carolyn Bucher, 200-yard breaststroke (2:30.78); Brian Marsh, 1650-yard freestyle (17.11.74).
