OBIT-CUSTER, GERTRUDE ALIFF
CUSTER, Gertrude Aliff, 88, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 1993, in a local nursing home. She was the widow of Dewey T. Custer and a long time member of Belmont Christian Church. She is survived by one daughter, Claudine C. Cannaday; son-in-law, Shirley H. Cannaday, both of Roanoke; one sister, Irene Sutphin, Christiansburg; three brothers, James Aliff, Blacksburg, Burgess Aliff, Christiansburg, Wilsie Aliff, Shepperdstown, W.Va.; 12 nieces; four nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 1 p.m. Friday, February 19, with the Rev. John E. Wallace officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel Garden Mausoleum, Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
