OBIT-BLANKENSHIP, NORMAN JACK

BLANKENSHIP, Norman Jack, 67, of Route 2, Narrows, died Wednesday, February 17, 1993, in the Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg, Va. A lifelong resident of Giles County, he was born on May 27, 1925, and was the son of the late Robert Lee and Rose Perdue Blankenship. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Alva Blankenship, Tom Blankenship, Alfred Blankenship, Omie Blankenship; and a sister, Alice B. Ferrell. He is survived by his stepmother, Macie Blankenship, Narrows; hiw wife, Gertrude Chambers Blankenship, Narrows; three sons, Perry Blankenship and Charles Blankenship, both of Narrows, Jeffery Blankenship, Glen Lyn, Va.; five daughters, Gloria Blankenship, Teresa B. Riddle, Rhonda B. Sanders, all of Narrows, Kay B. Lang and Lisa B. King, both of Pearisburg; two brothers, Fonso Blankenship, Salem, Walker Blankenship, Narrows; four sisters, Dollie B. Horne, Mary B. Wilburn, both of Narrows, Grey Conley, Perryville, Md., Della Crawford, Tennessee; eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Riffe's Funeral Chapel in Narrows with Kellis McClaugherty, Minister and Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Rich Creek, Va. The family will meet their friends at Riffe's in Narrows, Va., Thursday evening from 7 until 9.
