BASEBALL UVA STAYS UNBEATEN BY DROPPING VMI

Virginia remained unbeaten in three games with a 6-3 victory over VMI in Charlottesville. Don Melroy (1-0) picked up the victory in two innings of relief of starter John Cappelmann. Jason Cook sparked the Cavaliers with a double, a triple and two runs batted in. Merlin Ikenberry (0-1) took the loss for the Keydets (2-1) after allowing three runs in the eighth inning.
