OBIT LAYNE, TRANNIE KEGLEY

LAYNE, Trannie Kegley, 89, of Wytheville, died Monday, February 22, 1993 in the Wythe County Community Hospital. Her residence was Route 4, Wytheville. She was the widow of Ormond M. Layne, was a retired Wythe County School teacher, was a member of the Lebanon Lutheran Church, Retired Teacher Association of Wythe County, Wilderness Road Chapter D.A.R, and Wythe-Gray Chapter U.D.C. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Alvin (Monterey) Cassell, Wytheville; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Osa Price, Ivanhoe, Va., Ardelia Palmer, Pulaski, Margaret and Timble Rash, Wytheville; and two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Flinchum, Wytheville, Claris Layne, Camp Hill, Pa.; three grandchildren, Scarlet Layne Cassell, Yancy Alvin Cassell, and Emily Rosellen Cassell, all of Wytheville. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Grubb Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Joseph Shumate. Interment to follow in the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Grubb Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 7 to 9. Those that wish to do so may make memorial contributions to the charity of your choice. The Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
