COUNCILMAN FINED FOR LIE ABOUT WHERE HE LIVED

A Pound councilman was found guilty of lying about his place of residence when he ran for office and fined $2,500.

A Wise County jury found Rocky Cantrell, 36, guilty of perjury. He had listed his place of residence on election forms as an apartment above his business in Pound.

Prosecutors said he actually lived outside the town limits.
