OBIT WOLFREY, HETTY WEARY
WOLFREY, Hetty Weary, 89, of Salem, died Friday, February 26, 1993. She was
a native of Mt. Carmel, Penn. She had retired from the VA Medical Center,
Salem as a medical stenographer. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal
Church in Salem. She had also been a volunteer at Lewis-Gale Hospital for many
years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by
her husband, Herbert M. Wolfrey Sr. Survivors include one son, Herbert (Tim)
Wolfrey and a daughter-in-law, Lucille W. Wolfrey of Roanoke; sister, Ruth
Daley of Treverton, Penn.; a granddaughter, Maelyn W. Wolfrey, Johnson City,
Tenn.; two nephews and one niece. Funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30
a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church by Dr. Robert T. Copenhaver and Dr. W.
Melvin Maxey. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will
receive friends today at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial
contributions may be made to St. Paul's Memorial Fund, 42 East Main St.,
Salem, Va. 24153. John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem, is handling the
arrangements.
