OBIT-WHITLEY, MARY EMOLINE, (MRS. PATRICK WHITLEY)

WHITLEY, Mary Emoline, (Mrs. Patrick Whitley), 94, of Saltville, 94, died Wednesday, March 31, 1993, in the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion. She was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 30 years. Mrs. Whitley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Whitley; one daughter, Margaret W. Clear, and one son, Robert E. Whitley. Survivors include two sons, David Mason Whitley, Chilhowie, Allen H. Whitley, Marion; one daughter, Mary Evelyn Harper, Rich Valley; two brothers, Walter E. ("Bill") Patrick, Saltville, Robert L. Patrick, Saltville; two sisters, Louise P. Worley, Melbourne, Fla., Eva P. Tolley, Saltville; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces; and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at the Riverside United Methodist Church, with Rev. Michael Purdy and Rev. Richie Neece officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery. The D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville is in charge of arrangements.
