OBIT-HAWLEY, JOHN C.
HAWLEY, John C., 85, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Christiansburg,
passed away Wednesday, March 31, 1993. He was a member of St. James Episcopal
Church. He was a retired professional photographer from Union Carbide X-10
Plant with 27 years of service. He was the last survivor of nine children.
Survivors include his wife, Cary Drewry Hawley; sons and daughters-in-law,
Craig and Linda B. Hawley, Drew and Linda J. Hawley; grandsons, Andrew,
Zachary and Christopher Hawley; special nephews, Rev. Don Dunlap and Lilburn
Dunlap; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday at
St. James Episcopal Church. The Rev. Carleton S. Cunningham will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Emory Davis, Fred Land, Bob Oliver, Kenneth Mahoney, Terry
Delk, Joseph Caldwell. Hon. pallbearers, John Moore, Bill Morrell, Jack
Murray, Bob Stooksbury, Charles Emory, Jack Kelberg, Clint Danner. Memorials
may be made to the St. James Episcopal Church Memorial Fund. Interment will be
1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Godwin Cemetery in Virginia. The family will receive
friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the St. James Episcopal Church. Rose
Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
