IN A FEW weeks, Roanoke citizens will have the opportunity to make a meaningful change in the local government. The position of commissioner of revenue will be up for grabs. This is a very important position in local government, and it is time for someone to bring new ideas and some modern practices to this job.
Dave Anderson is the person who can do this. His years of service to the city give him the experience he needs to handle the duties of commissioner of revenue. His knowledge of available technologies, along with his foresight in how they can be utilized, will bring this office into a new realm.
It is time citizens take the initiative and make the government work for and not against us. Anderson will be a friend and work with the citizens, if you give him the chance. GARY BILBRO ROANOKE
