OBIT BROWN, CHAPMAN C.
BROWN, Chapman C. 66, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, April 6, 1993 in a local
hospital. He was retired from the City of Roanoke with 37 years of service and
was a Naval veteran of World War II. Survining are his wife, Frances Lynch
Brown; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Calvin and Bonnie Brown, Dennis
Brown, all of Roanoke, Donald and Kim Brown, Vinton; mother, Etta Brown,
Roanoke; four brothers, Raymond W. Brown, Roanoke, Cecil Brown, Wirtz, J.W.
Brown, Chester, Winfred Brown, Chesapeake; two sisters, Erma Anderson,
Roanoke, Betty Divers, Wirtz; a sister-in-law, Venie Brown, Suffolk. Graveside
funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, April 9, 1993 at Sherwood
Memorial Park with the Rev. Oscar T. Pugh officiating. The family suggests
memorials be made to your local rescue squad. Friends may call at Oakey's
Vinton Chapel.
