OBIT CLENDENEN, BERYL DRAKE

CLENDENEN, Beryl Drake, 89, of Roanoke, died Friday, April 9, 1993, in a Salem hospital. She was a member of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church and the widow of Arthur Long Clendenen. Surviving are a son, James Drake Clendenen, Carmel, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Martha Anne and William W. McClanahan, Union, S. C.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Fern Drake Bowen, Alpena, Mich. Funeral services will be at the graveside, Evergreen Burial Park, 11 a.m. Monday, April 12, 1993, with the Dr. Gregory L. Adkins officiating. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, Tenn. 38101 or a favorite charity. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel where the family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
